Florence

So the next morning we were off to Florence! First stop on the way was Assisi which out of my whole time in Italy was my favorite place. Tiny little town and home to St. Francis of Assisi.

Italian countryside

Soo many sunflowers!

All the towns were built on hills because then the knights and lords could see around to defend their castles.

Soo beautiful!

Assisi and the church

Assisi. Check out those hills!

Just having a PBandJ and some Cheetos

St. Francis of Assisi telling the birds about Jesus.

The alter of the lower church

The upper church

Oh you know, just an alley

The biggest plaza in Assisi
So then we kept going to Florence where we went to dinner and walked around a little that night and a walking tour the next morning. We walked around and saw the major monuments like the Duomo and the Academia which holds all kinds of famous art. The David was amazing, but we weren't allowed to take pictures. So giant compared to pictures!

The Duomo. Probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Amazing that someone could create that!

Duomo..on our way to dinner

Maybe the best pasta I had the whole trip. Just noodle shells and a goat cheese sauce. So simple but so so so delicious!

The next morning was our walking tour...
The Duomo the next morning!

Cafe del Borgo..Paige's place she went to last time she was in Florence. The best!

GELATO

Caprese sandwich with pesto. BEST. SANDWICH. EVER.

The watercolor guy in Florence I bought 3 paintings from and then currently is painting a picture of poppies especially for me :)
